KAREN THOMAS-LILLIE ART
I paint with oil bars on panel using my hands as brushes, depending on the light you may see subtle finger or palm prints in the painting.
Critic Review
“The gorgeous oil paintings by Auburn artist Karen Thomas-Lillie are soft and understated; she creates her Atmospheric paintings blurring foreground into sky, creating a landscape that looks touched by the hand of Mark Rothko. Particularly memorable were “Farm Field”, “Lake Shore” and “Early Spring Evening.”
These are ethereal, soft-edged paintings, with just enough information for you to resolve the imagery.”
Katherine Rushworth, former director of the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center, SUNY college at Fredonia, and contributing writer for the Syracuse Post-Standard/Stars.
